Those Eyes I Love So Much (A Poem)

Those Eyes I Love So Much

I shall plant a cypress tree.
In its knees
I’ll grow a sweet gum.
In-between I’ll hang a hammock
and I will rest awhile.

The leaves will move gently
at the cold wind’s touch
and the blue skies will tease me
like your eyes I loved so much.

I shall plant a rose bush.
In its shadow
I’ll grow some fern.
In-between there will be baby’s breath
and I will gaze awhile.

I shall light a blazing fire.
In its flames
I’ll toss some cones.
In-between the embers and the dawn,
I will dream awhile.

And the leaves will move gently
at the cold wind’s touch
and the blue skies will tease me
like your eyes I loved so much.
