Haven’t I Seen You There (A Poem)

Haven’t I Seen You There

In a sacred space
a fountain pulses up
then cascades down
like soft white fireworks
trailing back to its source
and a foreign scroll
bearing someone else’s story
is seeking to unfold itself peacefully
beside mine.
I’d know that writing anywhere.
Haven’t I seen you there?
