Bloody Simple ( A Poem – for Charles Yallowitz)

Bloody Simple  (for Charles Yallowitz)

Sometimes people just don’t learn
the first time
or the second time
that it’s not going to turn out
exactly
or even closely
to what was expected.
Once learned
well
once learned and twice burned
as if we can
explain
to anyone else
that it didn’t turn out
exactly
or even closely
to what was expected.
I know, right?
But I also know someone
who can make up a fantasy
in which
anyone who needs any explanations
about anything
or anyone
will just
be killed.
I really like  bloody endings like that.
