A Little Selfie Stuff and All That Jazz

Sooo…it’s been a wild month.  Let’s not go there except to say

~holidays

~your visiting adult children

~hosting 4 dinner parties

Add to that getting my poetry book together – editing and all is coming along well…and – since our stove exploded and we had to somewhat redo the kitchen – I’m going through a delayed nesting period.  Delayed from my moving out here 13 years ago.  Hahaha.  So up has gone a beaded curtain and hanging crystals … and that old bohemian me I lost while I was working for Stanford slowly returns.

It looks great.  Just the living room and still some work to do…but – geez – you like it!  Sometimes I’m ever amazed at the you evolving before me each day.  We’re calling the living room our ‘romance cave’.  It’s looking quite magical – lit softly with tiny lights all about.  Very golden and lovely.

I wanted to take a picture of it all but…the lighting won’t work.  Instead, I’ve experimented with my absolutely first selfie.  LOL!  As you will see, I never did get it right.  I’m using a camera because the only cell phone we have is in your hiking sack in the trunk of your car.  So here goes: selfie2 (2)

ase;foeSo hello to you.  From me to you.  I hope the New Year will bring peace within me and my tiny space upon this earth and that this peace will radiate beyond – to all.  I hope for this peace for all of us.

I wish I could say that I had some super great epiphany yesterday/today.  Alas, I did not.

    • Hi Briana! Ah 😛 Thank you for the compliment! We’re both loving the beaded curtain and crystals all about the living room. Hope everything is going good with your writing and your ranch work. I’ll pass by your blog this evening. I just said, to David, how wonderful it is to have a free evening. Take care…

      • Hi Ellespeth! 🙂 When I was younger I wanted a beaded curtain for my bedroom door! Now I’m thinking maybe wooden bead curtains for in my kitchen! 🙂
I hope all is well with you! Have a lovely day!

      • Happy New Year, Ellespeth! I think, with selfies, people just use their iPhones or smartphones and hold them out in front and snap. Before the day of the smartphone, I used to take “selfies” much the way you did: by taking a picture of myself looking in a mirror. Frankly I think our way is much more artistic 🙂

    • Charles! Howz the book publication coming along? Are you keeping warm?
Mega issues going on here with the wireless computer connection. I’ve moved my computer back into the study – further away from whatever and I guess the phone line. We may need another —I think David called it a modem. One that hooks up to more computers. Hmmmm. We’ll head to Frys later this week. So it’s fairly annoying to come online:(

      • Trying to keep warm, but it’s really tough with the single digits in the morning. The books are still selling, which is all I can ask for. I don’t know much about computers, but I think it’s called a wireless router nowadays. I know when I’m too far away from it things get iffy. It’s in the basement and my room is on the top floor.
