And I’m Smiling – Some Prose and A Goodnight Poem

You’ve fallen asleep beside me on the sofa. It’s been a busy day. Your daughter is visiting from Copenhagen. I watch you still struggle to make up for a divorce that happened almost 30 years ago. I wish I had a magic wand. I see you and I’m smiling.

Have you ever read a love poem and thought you wished your life were that way or that someone would have written such a love poem about you? Me too!  Hahaha!

And I’m Smiling

When I turn
and see you
when you smile at me,
the anguish becomes just
a punctuation mark.
