It Was All Quite Mysterious – A Poem

It Was All Quite Mysterious
She loved him
from a distant
place well hidden.

Sheerest white lace didn’t hide
a joyous expectation or
sheerest black lace
the fair skin
the red lips
the long lashes
– dark wavy wisps that the day caught off guard.

The story goes
he lost his way
and found her.
