I’ve Been Thinking About Malala Yousafzai & Kailash Satyarthi

Can you imagine?  As though life hadn’t already dealt you a difficult enough hand, you’re on the school bus one day and a group of Taliban men barge the bus and shoot you in the head and kill many of your school friends.  You’re 15 and an advocate for education for girls/children.  You’re life is forever changed and you receive the Nobel Peace Prize two years later.  That’s what the expression ‘God isn’t finished with me yet’ means.  So amazing.  Such a beautiful young woman.  Such a great quote!

And what a fantastic person shares the award this year – Kailash Satyarthi…a child rights activist working to free children from slavery.

“These children have been in bondage ever since the time they can remember. Liberty for them is an unfamiliar word. They don’t know what it is like to be “free.” (Kailash Satyarthi)

    • True, Charles. Though I have nothing against past recipients – none ask to be nominated, of course – those of us who live in freedom are given this year, once again, cause to reflect and be truly astounded by the lives these two have lived and the lightt hey shine into the world.

Hope all is well….such cute blog pictures of your son last week 🙂
