Winter Solstice – A Poem

There’s a challenge going on, at  Poet’s Corner, to write a Christmas poem.  I’m on my way to enter this one.  Happy Winter Solstice!

Winter Solstice
And when The Lady came
winged and gowned
crowned with holly’s leaf and berry,
I knew winter had come
with stories of angel
fairies dancing golden
close to a new star’s light.
All around me
gingerbread scented the air
and the Yule log crackled.
