The People We Don’t See Anymore – A Poem

packing up the Christmas stuff and:

The People We Don’t See Anymore
There’s an old box
holding Christmas cards
and birthday cards
from people
I don’t see anymore.
Everything else
is now so perfectly organized.

I don’t know why
we manage to hold onto
those old boxed memories
of the people we don’t see anymore.
