Here is the photo and my story:

ffawLetting Go

Everything was so close.  It seemed everything was so far away.  No one to rescue me.  Just me.

I think about freedom sometimes.  I think it must be worth anything, but I can’t be sure.  And, more than anything, I want to be sure.

Sure…do I want to give up all that I have for some solitary journey to some dream I have?  My eyes are red rimmed and teary.

“Go now,” my mother whispers.  She kisses my salty wet cheek.

“I will send for you soon,” I promise us both.

“Go now,” my mother whispers again.

“I love and thank you for this,” I whisper back.

And then we are parted forever.

thank you Barbara Taylor for supplying our prompt photo this week!
