Red – Fiction

Time again for Flash Fiction for Aspiring Writers So grateful to PJ for hosting this weekly challenge.  Please follow little froggy for more stories.

Here is the photograph and my story:

I’d waited  hours for my big sister, Sunshine, to get back from her best friend’s wedding. Anxious moments spent wondering about  Rainbow’s wedding dress. There had been rumors of the local flower shops selling out of red roses. All ordered up and delivered to the church.

“So what did she wear?” I asked when my sister finally made it home.

“She wore red.”

“What do you mean she wore red?”

“Red .  As red as the front of Mamma’s Restaurant.”

“Oh my goodness! What did Stanley wear?”

“He wore red too!”

This week’s photo prompt is provided by Singledust. Thank ‘s for your photo:)

Get Well Soon…

We napped this afternoon.  You sound terribly stuffed up.  Your mood is not improving.  Your temp is normal.  You are eating rice pasta with red sauce.  Combining all of those, you could still be sick, or you could be well, or you could be trying to trick me into thinking you are well or sick.  We didn’t say ‘in sickness or in health’ in our wedding vows – we wrote our own.  This is what happens when one attempts to be creative.  Important promises and elements are left out.  We discuss this over supper.  You decide that just because we didn’t put it in our wedding vows doesn’t mean we didn’t mean to.  I slurp a piece of rice pasta into my mouth just to aggravate you.  You crack up laughing.  I proclaim you are almost well.  It was soooo wonderful to hear your laughter.
